Nerd-Tech - Exploring Technology, Computers, and Techno… Are there any R8500 builds that just fully work without errors that you know of? Any tricks up your sleeve? If I enable https for the gui admin page, it takes about 2 minutes for any page to fully load afterwords. Unfortunately, Kongs latest (where you directed me to, DD-WRT v3.0-r37015M kongac (09/23/1 ) isn't really a stable build. You will not find a lot of older builds for your router, it has not been around for long enough. Builds in there may have seen less testing, so think carefully about using them if your router is in a critical or production environment. Which contains similare files to its parent.

You will also see subfolders named “TEST/“. Your router has an ARM processor.ĭouble click on the “Supported Devices” file and read it, especially where it gives you the file name to use for the R8500 router. The Kong firmware is in folders according to the type of processor used in the routers. You will find the best build for your router here Could you please post a link to a build or stable version that would work best with this setup on my r8500? Thank you kindly! Lastly, in the kong builds, whats the difference in files with a "K3"/without a "K3", with a v24/ without a v24, and with a AC_ARM/without a AC_ARM? Which one should I be using? Also, can I use the STD_128k file on my router? I am assuming not, but just want to double check.įor a recommended stable build, I am trying to use a vpn client (Mullvad, which also uses ipv6) with built in port forwarding from the vpn side.

Can I use generic broadcom builds for my router? Could someone please post a link of the proper stable firmware I should be using that isn't a test build? I really would appreciate it, as I don't want to brick my router (which I have already come close to). Second, I'm not sure I understand if once trying to flash a "Generic" stable build onto my already flashed dd-wrt R8500, what generic version to use. The wiki clearly states that I shouldn't be using a beta trailed build permanently, but only as a means to flash a generic "stable" build onto my router after flashing a trailed build. To say the least, I am tearing out my skull. I have read up and down in and out the Peacock thread on getting the proper "Stable" firmware for my netgear R8500, but the wiki seems to reference things that are outdated or no longer apply.
